Customised rigid piping: the processing steps

How are rigid pipes made at Pedroncelli? The brand new pipe bending machine with which we have equipped ourselves, a state-of-the-art piece of equipment that is fully automated and 4.0 ready, allows us to carry out the bending of rigid tubes in stainless steel, carbon steel and other alloys according to customer specifications, with multiple options of shape, diameter and cross-section. Automatic tube bending guarantees very high levels of precision and quality significantly speeds up process times and allows replicate the same type of tube ad infinitum all advantages for our customers.

The curvature is followed by the connection of rigid piping which consists of adding the fitting to the end of the tubes. Even at this stage, our machines allow us many options: in addition to the traditional TIG shank welding and cutting ring joining, there are the cold deformation of steel tubes to obtain a metric pipe-DIN connection with a high guarantee of tightness - by means of Walform preforming machine - and the machining with ogive machine to produce rigid pipes with 37° flared fittings.

One of the pluses offered by Pedroncelli is being able to testing and flushing of rigid pipes internally at the same time as their production. The testing tests the performance of the products by subjecting them to a series of specific bench tests up to 1200 bar pressure, while the flushing  consists of cleaning the pipes with hydraulic fluid to remove contaminating particles from the inner walls (find out more about pipe flushing). In this way we are guaranteed provide piping that meets expectations and regulatory requirements.

Finally, we also deal with the services of pipe pickling and painting two operations that we entrust to trusted partners and which allow our customers to receive a finished product in every respect, with a turnkey service.
